The “Comprehensive Care” Approach

This “Comprehensive Care” team approach is actually a hallmark of the Fracture Care Center and is an overall, guiding approach to Orthopaedic/Fracture Care. Essentially, the Comprehensive Fracture Care team approach provides patients with the full attention of all team components, from pre-admission to post-discharge. Every team member is specifically trained in complex, comprehensive orthopedics care for all conditions and/or injuries.

As such, our surgeons have personally hand-picked the team of orthopedic specialists, including physicians’ assistants, nurse practitioners, nurses, surgical teams and therapists. Our surgeons round on patients twice per day to ensure constant communication with the patient and the entire team to help ensure patients receive the best care possible. These two factors, the leadership of Drs Cole, Vickaryous and Hawks, and the integrated interdisciplinary team, make the Fracture Care Center unique.

The team approach enables a true interdisciplinary approach. Physicians work closely with other hospital departments, including general/internal medicine, infectious disease, and cardiology, to ensure that patients receive the best and most comprehensive care available. Education and training is ongoing, with all FCC staff receiving monthly in-services and relevant training. This “Comprehensive Care” approach ensures a commitment to the highest quality orthopaedic care for our patients delivered compassionately.
