The Vision for the Fracture Care Center
The FCC is a destination for the treatment of complex orthopaedic needs. In 2004, J. Dean Cole, MD, a true leader in orthopaedic traumatology, became the Medical Director of the Fracture Care Center. A pioneer in orthopaedic medicine, Dr. Cole has made influential contributions to the orthopaedic field. These include ground-breaking inventions and applications, such as the Intramedullary Skeletal Kinetic Distractor (ISKD), an internal limb lengthening device.
Dr. Cole sought to establish a unique medical destination. He envisioned a team of experienced, skilled surgeons and related medical professionals, all devoted to providing high-quality, round-the-clock, minimally invasive orthopaedic surgical treatment. Under his leadership, the Fracture Care Center handles more than 4,000 musculoskeletal injuries, deformities and conditions each year. He is committed to on-going education of his team to ensure they are knowledgeable about the latest treatments.
Both the volume and complexity of the Center’s cases have provided a unique body of experience unknown to other orthopaedic professionals. This knowledge and vision is evidenced in the Fracture Care Center’s “Philosophy of Care,” a commitment to the highest quality orthopaedic care resulting in successful outcomes. This philosophy incorporates two unique principles; the “Comprehensive Care” team approach, and minimally invasive surgery (MIS) available 24/7 to patients.
