Larry: Motocrossing to the Finish Line

At age 72, Larry is living a more extreme life than many his age. He is a nationally recognized Motocross rider, who has been racing and jumping in this sport for more than 10 years. It was during a short practice race in February 2006 that Larry had a serious accident. During a 20 foot jump he quickly maneuvered to miss a fellow rider causing him to crash. His 20 foot fall threw him over a barrier, shattering his shoulder and splitting the arm by his socket.

Andy: Jumping Again!

Andy, an avid skydiver, decided to celebrate his birthday by making his 704th jump with several of his friends. Unfortunately on his descent the ground winds became unpredictable and he was forced to land at a nearby golf course. At 20 feet, Andy’s lines went slack and his parachute collapsed. He dropped straight on his heels, shattering them completely.

Le Ann: Walking Proud

As a child, Lee Ann was diagnosed with neurofibromatosis, a set of genetic disorders, which caused a deformity of her leg, called a nonunion. This condition required multiple surgeries during childhood leaving her leg deformed. As an adult, Lee Ann learned Dr. Cole could treat both her leg deformity and length discrepancy with success.

John, an active tri-athlete, was distracted while cycling one-day and drove his bike off the road. He landed directly on his hip sustaining a serious acetabular (hip socket) fracture. John was originally told by physicians he would have trouble walking, and his athletic activities as a tri-athlete were over.

Brian: Limb Salvage Procedure

Services: Limb Salvage

Due to a severe accident, Brian almost lost his lower left leg to amputation. When Dr. Cole evaluated him, he had severe bone infection of the tibia and loss of a major portion of skin and leg muscles. Dr. Cole determined several surgeries were necessary to address Brian’s specific issues.
